The central Denmark region has bought a property in Roslev just north of Skive where there used to be a small dry cleaning service. It was actually cheaper for the region to buy this house than to try and ensure proper indoor climate. Furthermore, the house purchase grants the region with a national testhouse for investigating and testing new solutions, benefitting other contaminated properties.

ph.d.-student Bente Højlund Hyldegaard has found a method to remediate the groundwater cheaper, more efficiently and more sustainably than today by applying electricity from electrodes to the groundwater. The ph.d.-student will participate in PhD Cup 2020 on Friday the 19th of June that will air on DR2 at 21:30.

The IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition, a global event for water professionals covering the entire water cycle, has been postponed to 09/05/2021 - 14/05/2021. The Congress will in 2021 put emphasis on representation and contributions from Nordic and Baltic Sea countries, and will therefore be hosted by Denmark and all The Nordic Region countries. This makes the 2021 IWA Congress & Exhibition a great opportunity to learn about the Nordic water challenges and solutions, including participation in technical site visits.

Recently, industrial pH.d. student in environmental engineering, Bente Højlund Hyldegaard, has developed a innovate method to ensure the qauility of the groundwater against contamination by chlorinated solvents in a sustainable way. The method has been designed in corporation with COWI and DTU, and it works by degrade potential chlorinated solvents in the electrochemical zones of the aquifer into harmless compounds. The project is ground-breaking and is ready to be implemented on large scale where it will ensure the quality of our future drinking water.

More details on the project can be found on: https://innovationsfonden.dk/da/investeringer/investeringshistorier/erhvervsforskerforlob-skal-sikre-grundvandet-mod-forurening?utm_source=Nyhedsbrev+-+Innovationsfonden&utm_campaign=6bb5fbe469-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_03_07_51&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bb309b3fac-6bb5fbe469-20111409

Danish Regions Environment and Ressources is participating in ATV Soil and Groundwater's winter meeting at Vingsted Conference Center on March 3-4th 2020: http://atv-jord-grundvand.dk/2019site/vintermoede/. On this year's winter meeting, the focus will be on topics such as the challenges regarding pesticides, stabilization of contaminated soil and much more.

The last meeting in Danish Soil Partnership (DSP) was held at Danish Regions (Dampfærgevej) on the 20th of June 2019.

The National Network of Testsites participated in ATV's yearly Winter Meeting held at Vingsted Conference Center on March 5-6 2019. The Network had a display showing ongoing projects in relation to the testsites, a quiz and 'testsite-chocolate'.

TV2 Lorry prepared a 14 min. special issue about development work at the Innovation Garage test site and a soil mixing project for in situ chemical oxidation. Check it out here.

We are very happy for the opportunity to give insights on how we secure a clean ground water resource :-)

Adrian Schiefler and Markus Reischer are employed at The Capital Region and NIRAS and enrolled at Copenhagen University as PhD-students. They participate in an EU Horizon 2020 project with the purpose to train 14 PhD-students in producing and testing new remediation products for subsurface contaminant removal and immobilization. The scientific goal is to develop a new kind of metal reactant, which can degrade contamination in groundwater.

Adrian and Markus work primarily on the application end of this development chain and will use detailed site studies, monitoring and injection techniques to determine how to distribute reactants efficiently in groundwater and determine their effects on the contamination.

The project will run from the beginning of 2016 through 2019.

For more information, see the official Metal-Aid web page.

You can also find a news article on NIRAS’ website.

The newsletter for the Swedish soil remediation industry, EBH-bladet, has published another article on the Danish contaminated test sites.

This article is about heavy metals and the Collstrop-site, and it introduces a Swedish perspective on the advantages of test sites devoted to heavy metals research.

Check out the article on page 10-12 of the December 2016 issue.

Region of Southern Denmark has decided to open a temporary test site in Rudkøbing. The site is a former dry cleaner and is now owned by the Region of Southern Denmark. The test site will be available for the next 6-8 month.

You have the possibility to test different methods and "destructive" methods are not a limitation!

Look for more infomation under the new test site "Ørstedsgade"

September 2016 saw the opening of two new sites in the national network of contaminated test sites.

Stengården Landfill opened on the 14th and Collstrop wood impregnation site on the 20th.

Both events were well attended with representatives from political levels, public administration, teaching and research institutions and private partners.

Both events were covered by the press. Here are links to some of the TV news reports on the opening events (all in Danish):

See you in the woods

The newsletter for the Swedish soil and groundwater contamination industry EBH-Bladet has published a feature about the Danish test site network.

henry have guided you where to buy Kratom in shoppingkratom.com

We are very thrilled about the Swedish interest and the opportunity to show the advantages of the network and to encourage increased cross-border cooperation.

Check out the newsletter here.  The feature is on page 12-15.

Danish Soil Partnership and the Danish Regions have worked together to completely redesign the website for the test site network.

Now we offer information on both the test sites and the projects carried out at the sites. Have a look around and see what you think. Do not hesitate to get back to us if you miss something.

The test site info is generally divided into three parts:

  1. Presentation of the site for those unfamiliar with the sites.
  2. Practical info for those who have or are going to have a project at a site.
  3. And info on current and upcoming activity for those who wish to visit one of the sites.

Please be aware that not all sites have been put up to date on the new web page yet.

The info on projects is divided into ongoing projects and tested technologies. The project list is currently not complete. A bit of work needs to be put into providing information on primarily the previously tested technologies. We will give an update when list is more complete.
